What does travel help you with? Do I make you better? I say yes!

I think many of our travelers are asked why we travel? Run away from home? Aren’t we standing still? Runaway from bad memories? Shall we grow up? It depends on everyone. In my case, it is the desire for discovery – probably, if reincarnation is true, I was certainly a discoverer in the past centuries. Still, now you have little to discover for humanity, but you. My oldest hobby is history, and it encouraged me to travel, to see the places I read about… and slowly, slowly

Travel makes you more tolerant.

Try to understand why people in a certain culture behave or dress in a certain way. You will discover that everything has a reason and a logic – climatic, religious, historical, etc. The human race is generally logical (but, obviously, emotions also intervene here), so almost any habit, as strange as it may seem, can be explained. At first sight, it is revealed to you as brutal, inhuman, etc., etc. But, traveling, you will discover that people of various ethnicities, races, religions do not hate each other, can coexist very well, understand each other, and be tolerant.

Travel will make you more flexible and resourceful

. Many times, you have to react to delayed or canceled means of transport, to accommodation below your expectations, to all kinds of incidents. These make you put your brain to work – look for information, talk to people who can help you, change a plan already made or have no plan. Whether it’s one or the other, you’ll do it in a way.

Travel will make you braver

It’s natural to be afraid of the unknown, the unusual, places you’ve never been to. There is always a dose of the unknown for me when I go somewhere new… or simply where I haven’t been for a long time. But the moment you leave, you will discover that you feel better, feel that you have strength, and have strength. Moreover, maybe you have experiences that would have seemed scary to you – bungee jumping over a river, boarding a volcano, climbing a dune, or simply walking through a market full of strangers dressed strangely and speaking an unknown bird. After the trips, you will be different.

You learn to appreciate memories more than things.

Yes, it is one of the most popular slogans. Collect memories, not things. Yes, I appreciate a plane ticket more than my birthday than an expensive watch. But, because memories enrich you, memories remain. Things break, get lost, burn or steal. No one will steal your memories. And the beautiful moments are priceless – how much does a sunrise at Machu Picchu cost? A volcanic eruption? A gondola ride early in the morning in Venice because no one is on some obscure canals? A kiss on a mountain top?

Travel will make you more sociable.

Only if you are eternal grumpy and complete asocial will you not interact with people. If you go with someone, you will socialize with that man, at least. If you go alone, you will undoubtedly have to talk to other passengers, to the receptionist, to the check-in girl, to your bus neighbor. And many times, you will find unheard stories, from which, with a little mental processing, you will be wiser.

You will feel more independent.

We live in a society. We want, we don’t want, we have to obey some laws, some social canons, some constraints. Sometimes you want to scream like Freddie Mercury – I want to break free. Yes, you can – for a day, a week, a month or two. It would help if you went on a journey and you will discover that traveling means being free. You will learn what you did not learn in 10, 12, 15, or 16 years of study.  You will learn about new cultures, new habits. You will have new ideas. You will discover new skills. You will learn new languages. You will read new things. You will become smarter, you will know more, and you will be able to develop as an individual.
